Podcasthon is the world’s largest podcast charity initiative, bringing together podcasters globally to raise awareness for charitable causes. Behind this growing movement are two visionary co-founders: Jeremie Mani and Yves Delnatte.

Before dedicating himself entirely to Podcasthon, Jeremie built and sold two successful companies in email marketing and content moderation. After moving to Canada in 2020, he began reflecting on how he could use his skills to make a meaningful impact. Rather than launching another business, he wanted to create something that would mobilize thousands of people for a greater cause. That’s where Podcasthon was born—a volunteer-driven initiative aimed at uniting the power of podcasting with the needs of charities.

He has founded and led multiple ventures across various industries, bringing a wealth of experience to the table. Yves&#8217;s journey has been marked by a commitment to leveraging business as a force for good, which naturally led him to co-found Podcasthon alongside Jeremie. His vision is to harness the intimacy and authenticity of podcasts to drive awareness for important causes, creating a global ripple effect of positive change.

Traditional fundraising methods like charity galas, marathons, and auctions have their limits. They often require large budgets, exclusive access, or short-lived engagement. Meanwhile, charities around the world struggle to reach new audiences and create long-term connections.
<h3 data-start="2614" data-end="2647">Our Vision for the Future</h3>
Podcasthon started in 2023 with 300 French-speaking podcasters. It grew to over 400 in 2024 and is now expanding worldwide. Our dream? To see Podcasthon become a global tradition, uniting thousands of podcasters in dozens of languages each year.
We believe that &#8220;podcasting for good&#8221; should be more than a buzzword. It should be a movement. By leveraging technology, storytelling, and community engagement, we hope to inspire millions of listeners to care, to act, and to make a difference—one podcast at a time.

On one hand, there is the exceptional listening quality of podcasts. On the other, the urgent need for charitable organizations to raise awareness and connect with a broader circle of supporters.

Welcome to episode 61 of the Nurtured by Nature podcast, today I&#8217;m delighted to bring you a special bonus episode in support of Podcasthon, a fast-growing non-profit initiative that has united over 1700 podcasters around the world to raise awareness for the charitable cause that are close to our hearts. It’s an opportunity to use the podcasting community as a vehicle for social change by amplifying the voices and work of non-profits around the world, being the change we want to see.
I make no secret of my love of trees and having had the opportunity to spend time with their team in person, for this special episode I choose to shine a spotlight on the amazing work of the Devon based charity Moor Trees, who are dedicated to recreating native woodland across Dartmoor. I share a brief introduction to some of their incredible work, from collecting seeds from the native trees on Dartmoor to nurturing them into healthy saplings in their community nurseries and then the meticulous planning that goes into preparation the for planting these trees to ensure they will grow into the thriving woodland habitats of tomorrow.
Learn More About Moor Trees:
Moor Trees is dedicated to recreating native woodland across Dartmoor and surrounding areas. Although our region seems to be well wooded, much of the forest is commercial softwoods, Victorian game plantations and shelter belts. True natural woodland, rich with native birds &amp; butterflies, is rare, mostly found in the steep valley fringes of Dartmoor.
We aim to restore native broadleaf woodland by growing trees from locally collected seed in our community tree nurseries, &amp; planting them as new woodland on private &amp; public land.
We use the local provenance trees that we grow at our two community tree nurseries in our woodland creation schemes. Each autumn we gather thousands of seeds with the aim of germinating &amp; growing new seedlings. We currently have more than 100,000 growing in our nurseries getting ready for a future in the woodlands of tomorrow.
We are regenerating vital woodlands on Dartmoor, including Wiseman’s Wood. With your support we can grow local trees and restore habitats. We are celebrating our 25th Anniversary throughout 2025, help do your bit for nature by supporting us to achieve our vision of a wilder more natural Dartmoor.

Christy Acton is CEO of the Birmingham based charity, and we are joined by Mark Ashfield who is chair for the Board of Trustees. In the episode I wanted to use it to not only spread the word about the fantastic work that Christy and the team do on getting people experiencing homelessness back into work and housing, but to also drill into the realities of starting and running a charity, which is not that different to a lot of issues founders of for profit businesses experience.
It’s a longer than usual episode, but the conversation touches on such great topics – the link between business, charities and society, the importance of proactive solutions that give everyone multiple ways of getting involved, and the reality of taking an idea from a concept to an organisation (in short, it takes longer than you think!)
